Buoy Update for Lake Tahoe

Buoy Update for Lake Tahoe

Memorial Day Weekend is finally here and that means summer has officially kicked off in Lake Tahoe! There’s no other activity that says “Tahoe summer” more than boating on the lake. Many may not know, but the buoy’s that you see out on the lake are actually managed by TRPA. Below is a quick update from the TRPA on lottery submissions and applications:

TRPA Buoy Update

Lottery submissions were accepted through April 23, 2021, 5:00 p.m. (PST), and due to the number of eligible mooring lottery submissions received, a lottery drawing is not necessary for the 2020 mooring allocations.

Once eligibility review of all submissions is completed this week, participants will receive mooring allocations equal to the number of eligible lottery entries. TRPA will then follow up with official correspondence to each eligible participant confirming the number of allocations received and instructions on submitting a complete project application.

For information on eligibility and how to enter the lottery see Phase 2: New Mooring Permits.

Mooring Registration Renewal 2021

Annual mooring registration fees are due June 30, 2021.

To renew your mooring registration, please use the “Log In” button on the right side of the webpage. Once logged, click the “Find a Registration to Renew” button. If TRPA is still processing your 2019 submittal, you will be unable to renew at this time.
